Dr. Cuva was raised on the beaches and ball fields of Bradenton, FL. He is a board certified optometrist specializing in ocular disease and refractive surgery. Dr. Cuva is one of the most accomplished Optometrist in his field. He has worked at Prado Vision for the last 8 years. His previous experience as Clinical Director at TLC Laser Eye Center and working with the military at MacDill Air Force base gives patients an important advantage. Dr. Cuva presents options and treatments best suited to patients’ vision and lifestyle needs. He is a current member of the Florida Optometric and Hillsborough Optometric Societies.
After graduating from Cardinal Mooney High School in Sarasota, he completed his undergraduate studies in History at Merrimack College. He also lettered in Varsity Baseball and earned Merrimack Man of the Year honors in 1989. His work experience began as a teacher and baseball coach at Manatee High School. He earned his Optometric degree at the New England College of Optometry in Boston MA, and completed his externship at the US Army Hospital in Vicenza, Italy and the Zuni Hospital in Zuni New Mexico. In this spare time Dr. Cuva can be found coaching youth sports and training for fitness competitions. He has completed 5 marathons including the New York City and Boston Marathon. He also finished the Florida Ironman in 2011. Dr. Cuva is married to his lovely wife, Lisa, and has 3 kids.
